Petroleum TradingOur trading activities involve crude exports and importation of refined petroleum products for the PPMC, PPPRA and also for resale in the open market.

Marketing petroleum products is complex and requires detailed current knowledge of petroleum products sources and end markets. Also, requires a number of factors, including;

  • Individual demand for specific petroleum products
  • Market and price structures for each product
  • Locations of trading partners/customers
  • Availability of transportation facilities
  • Timing ("timing is everything"… as the saying goes)
  •  

     

    In addition to these factors are global trends and the costs related to delivery and storing petroleum products. We understand the market and apply our extensive knowledge in structuring our contracts/ sale offers so that the petroleum products price fluctuations do not materially affect our bottom-line while optimizing our storage and delivery channels.

    Through our qualified team, we maintain ongoing relationships with all the major petroleum product marketers in addition to a number of independent importers.

    As a result of our excellent performance under the PPPRA scheme, the NNPC have further increased our contract to supply 100,000mt of refined products monthly for the next 12 months, thereby increasing our import volumes. This rapid increase in capacity necessitated an urgent need to recently acquire a storage facility, a move initially planned for the 2nd quarter of 2012.
